I'm the co-founder, CEO, and director of research at Jumpstart Labs, a philanthropic research & design lab based in Los Angeles. Jumpstart works in the fields of faith & social innovation to help community leaders expand what they know, adapt how they think, and redefine what is possible. Our latest major research initiative is Connected to Give (http://connectedtogive.org), a comprehensive new look at religion & charitable giving in America.

I'm also a member of the AAR Program Committee, especially interested in how the AAR serves scholars & experts in religion who work primarily outside academic teaching & research. My academic training is in religion/religious studies from Columbia University (BA) and UC Santa Barbara (MA, PhD) and in social anthropology (MSt, Oxford).
