I am a PhD student in American Religious Cultures from Emory University. I have a BA in History and International Studies from Wake Forest University and an MA in Public History from American University. After a few years working with a Teaching American History grant and helping teachers use digital tools in their classrooms, I went back for my PhD to investigate the history of Evangelical and Fundamentalist communities, particularly the American South. I am also interested in how public history institutions can better incorporate religion into the American historical narrative. I think Roy Rosenzweig's digital humanities work was groundbreaking and that public scholarship should play a larger role in the tenure and promotion consideration process within the academy.
